Bestandsgeschichte: I. Bestandsgeschichte
Dr.-Ing. Gotthard Gambke (1908-1988) war seit 1951 bei der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) tätig, zuletzt seit 1957 als Hauptreferent. Nach Errichtung der Stiftung Volkswagenwerk im Jahr 1961 wurde er 1962 ihr erster Generalsekretär. 1975 trat er in den Ruhestand. Gambkes Handakten dokumentieren im Wesentlichen seine dienstliche Tätigkeit. Sie geben Auskunft über die Stiftung Volkswagenwerk sowie über die Wissenschaftsförderung in Deutschland in den 1950er, 1960er und 1970er Jahren.
II. Bestandserschließung
Der vorliegende 7,5 lfdm umfassende Bestand wurde gemäß Depositalvertrag zwischen Herrn Dr. Gotthard Gambke und dem Hauptstaatsarchiv vom 29.10./07.11.1975 am 4.12.1975 im Hauptstaatsarchiv deponiert. Er war zunächst - 15 Jahre nach dem Tod des Nachlassgebers am 01.12.1988 - bis zum Jahr 2003 für die Benutzung gesperrt und ist seitdem ohne Einschränkungen benutzbar.
Der Bestand wurde im Herbst 2006 von dem Archivangestellten Joachim Sauerzapfe (gest. 2007) verzeichnet.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
