Das Amtsgericht Sulingen gehört zum Bezirk des Landgerichts Verden.
Im Jahr 1879 wurde als Sprengel des Amtsgerichts Sulingen das Amt Sulingen festgelegt (Preuß. Gesetzsammlung 1879, S. 517). Nach der Vergrößerung vor allem durch die zum Landkreis Diepholz gehörenden Gemeinden der aufgehobenen Amtsgerichte Bruchhausen-Vilsen und Uchte (Nds. GVBl. 1973, S. 61-64) umfasst der Bezirk des Amtsgerichts seit der Durchführung der Gebiets- und Verwaltungsreform folgende Gemeinden des Landkreises Diepholz: Affinghausen, Bahrenbostel, Barenburg, Borstel, Ehrenburg, Freistatt, Kirchdorf, Maasen, Mellinghausen, Neuenkirchen, Scholen, Schwaförden, Siedenburg, Staffhorst, Sudwalde, Sulingen, Varrel und Wehrbleck (Nds. GVBl. 1974, S. 500).
Die Führung der Handelsregister für den Bezirk des Amtsgerichts Sulingen ging im Jahr 2002 auf das Amtsgericht Diepholz über.
