1. Verwaltungsgeschichte/Biographie: William Beer wurde am 18.03.1897 als Sohn des Händlers Karl Louis Beer in Chemnitz geboren. Von Ostern 1903 bis Ostern 1911 besuchte er die 1. Knabenschule Chemnitz und von Ostern 1911 bis Ostern 1914 die 1. Städtische Fach- und Fortbildungsschule Chemnitz. In der Firma Hoffmann Thranitz Chemnitz absolvierte er die Lehre als Elektromonteur vom 27.06.1911 bis Ostern 1914. Danach arbeitete er als Elektromonteur in der Firma Voigt und Bähring in Chemnitz. Es folgten die Militärzeit von 04.05.1918 bis 17.01.1919 sowie eineTätigkeit als Elektromonteur beim Ingenieur A. Bieling in Großenhain. Am 12.10.1921 nahm er das Studium an der Staatlichen Maschinenbauschule Chemnitz auf und schloss es am 31.07.1923 mit Reifezeugnis ab.
2. Bestandsbeschreibung: Die Unterlagen von Louis William Beer wurden dem Universitätsarchiv am 18.05.2006 durch dessen Sohn Manfred Beer zur uneingeschränkten Nutzung übereignet. Sie beinhalten u.a. Schülerzeichnungen aus dem ersten Semester, Gegenstände aus der Mitgliedschaft der studentischen Verbindung Teutonia und Festzeitungen dieser Verbindung.

The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number.
