Voigts, sich auf sein Dispensationsgesuch einzuschränken und von dem Vorfall mit den Studierenden (Widerstand der Studenten gegen seine Berufung zum Prorektor) nichts verlauten zu lassen, absichtlich zuwider gehandelt habe (um ein Äquivalent für die nicht erfolgte Ernennung zu erlangen). Die Absendung des Berichtes nach Gotha sei einem Versehen seiner Dienstboten zuzuschreiben.
