1958 - 1987
Form und Inhalt: Die Hauptabteilung Politik und Aktuelles entstand 1986 aus den Hauptabteilungen Nachrichten und Aktuelles sowie Politik und Wirtschaft. Erster Hauptabteilungsleiter war Gerhard Friedl. Die Hauptabteilung Politik und Wirtschaft wurde zwischen 1958 und 1962 von Walter von Cube geleitet. Auf ihn folgte Burghard Freudenfeld, der dieses Amt bis 1971 innehatte. Zwischenzeitlich (1966-1969) hieß die Hauptabteilung Politik und Zeitgeschehen. Für die nächsten Jahre (1971-1983) leitete und prägte Walter Kröpelin die Hauptabteilung. Auf ihn folgte Udo Reiter, der ab 1984 auch die Hauptabteilung Nachrichten und Aktuelles leitete. Diese wurde 1964 als Hauptabteilung Nachrichten gegründet und bis 1978 von Clemens Martin geleitet. 1978 erfolgte die Umbenennung in Nachrichten und Aktuelles und Hans-Joachim Netzer übernahm die Leitung.
Der Bestand umfasst die Akten der Hauptabteilung Politik und Aktuelles sowie die der zwei Hauptabteilungen (Nachrichten und Aktuelles sowie Politik und Wirtschaft), aus denen die HA Politik und Aktuelles hervorging. Der Schwerpunkt des Bestandes sind interne und externe Schriftwechsel, Protokolle zu Sitzungen von diversen Gremien sowie sonstige Unterlagen zur Programmplanung. Die internen Schriftwechsel geben einen Einblick in die Arbeit der Hauptabteilung. Fragen der Programm- und Projektplanung werden darin ebenso diskutiert wie technische, organisatorische, finanzielle, personelle oder rechtliche Themen. Bei der Erfassung der externen Schriftwechsel lag der Schwerpunkt auf der Korrespondenz mit Hörer/innen.
The Bundeszentralkartei (BZK) is the central register of the federal government and federal states for completed compensation proceedings. When a claim is entered into the BZK, a number is assigned for unique identification. This BZK number refers to a compensation claim, not to a person. If a person has made several claims (e.g. for themselves and for relatives), each claim generally has its own BZK number. Often, the file number of the respective compensation authority is used as the BZK number.
This number is important for making an inquiry to the relevant archive.

In the sources, the persecuted person is sometimes referred to as ‘Geschädigter’ (aggrieved party) and the applicant as ‘Anspruchsberechtigter’(claimant).
